Led various studies to help organisations to identify and understand the views of key people and how they can influence or benefit from services. Drawing on surveys and in depth qualitative interviewing, this includes work for universities, the UK Commission for Employment and Skills, Regional Development Agencies, Local Authorities and the Voluntary sector. These studies provided a range of resources to support the development of strategies and assessment of impact.
Conducted various studies drawing on a variety of secondary sources including academic and practitioner studies to identify a range of factors contributing to successful interventions in different contexts. These studies included rapid and systematic reviews of the literature in a range of fields including entrepreneurship, innovation, human resource management and development, local economic development and small business growth.
Principle investigator in an exploratory study commissioned by Morrisons Supermarkets using qualitative interviews and a case study approach to investigate the factors which impact on progression in the workplace and the effect of this on the social mobility of research participants.
This evaluation, commissioned by the Department for Work and Pensions, explored the extent to which a new Performance Management Framework (PMF) met its objectives as an improved system for Jobcentre Plus. It provided detailed feedback on staff understanding and awareness of the PMF, implementation and communication processes and early evidence of the influence on cultural and behavioural change.
A longitudinal qualitative assessment of the Women and Work Sector Pathways Initiative introduced by the government to overcome skills gaps and shortages in key sectors of the economy. The review was based on documentary evidence, interviews with key stakeholders and case studies in constuction, land based industries, fashion and hospitality.

A mixed methods evaluation commissioned by the Department for Employment and Skills using a quasi-experimental approach to assess the impact of the Wired up Communities programme as a means of overcoming digital inequality in disadvantaged areas. Surveys and qualitative interviews with a range of stakeholders assessed the impact of the policy intervention at local and national levels over several years.
